Description

Multiple women on horseback and a horse-drawn carriage await passage to Saugatuck village on the old Chain Ferry scow. This image was featured as History Mystery # with the solution: The early Saugatuck ferry often carried horses and riders. The photo was taken in 1909 with the Big Pavilion, shown in the background, still under construction.
