The image is of a nude male figure, sitting with his arms forward and forehead resting on his knees. Steinberg carefully rendered the muscular bulges under the man's skin in what appears to be an allegorical figure rather than a life study. [Compare "This is the Midwest" 2012.13.02] A earlier left edge is visible along the side of the image.
