Description

33 black and white high-school "friendship photos" collected by the Soda Lounge staff. Some photos have names or notes written on the back. One photo shows the 47-48 basketball team with the names Don Webster, Harley Henderson, Jean Schoeneich [Gene Schoeneich?], Ev Kasten, Jerry Bale and Bud Whipple noted on the back. In addition to the SHS portraits, the donation included six 2010 photographic copies historic watercraft photos.

Context

Gifts from appreciative staff, and possibly customers, to Ruth Wright and Vera and Mike Kenney, proprietors of the Saugatuck Soda Lounge. The lounge was a popular hangout for Saugatuck High School students. In a note from the photo's donor John E. Bedore of Appleton, Wisconsin, he describes himself and his sister Mrs. Kennelly as "5th generation Saugatuck history."
