2022.64.01Description
A collection of glass-faced slides of people sailing the Saugatuck Yacht Club fleet. A few of the slides have labels with dates that range from 1939 to 1945.
"WD" stands for Webster David Corlett, the donor's grandfather who was from Oak Park, and later, River Forest, IL.
Many of the ±140 slides have discolorations between the glass that surface cleaning did not address. Attached to this entry are a sampling of the sharpest, cleanest images.
Jack Sheridan, SDHC photo expert, has retouched some of the sample images. No slides have been opened to clean under the glass.
Boats with "P" on the sails indicate they are Papoose class vessels.Photograph Details

PoorNotes
The slides are in poor condition with scuffs to the glass, protective surfaces. On some slides the tape edging has failed, causing moisture or particles to create flaws in the images. Some film has faded severely or completely.
Sept. 2022: Slides have been surface cleaned with microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol (only where needed on the glass) and rehoused in clean boxes.Relationships
