Hand-built pot made of orange terracotta clay. The pot is finished with brown and dark yellow glazes. The pot has raised areas that flow downward from the rim.
Inscribed around the trimmed but un-glazed bottom of the pot is the text "Summer 1960" and "Elsa Ulbricht" There are two additional short inscriptions in the base.Context
The pot was purchased locally at a garage sale. Although not known for her pottery, Ms. Ulbricht was a multi-disciplinary artist who encouraged the elevation of crafts as art.Collection
