Description

Dan Lutz, an Ox-Bow painting instructor (wearing a striped t-shirt at right) is working along with his class on the riverbank with the Water Street fishing shanties visible on the opposite shore. This image was featured as History Mystery #10 with the text: The Gotham, a Saugatuck fishing tug - seen on the very left - sank in November 1943 with the loss of Lou Gotham, his two sons and two other crew members. Olendorf did a painting of this image.
