Four cards with illustrations of Biblical scenes on the front and lessons on the back. These Lesson Picture Cards were paid for by subscription (12 cents per year) and mailed from the David C. Cook Publishing Company in Elgin, Illinois. The cards are have a 1915 copyright and patent notice.
Along with the cards was a tract "Are You a Bible Christian?" by A. Sims, a four-page pamphlet published in Toronto, Canada. The tract instructs the reader to "Enclose a copy of this tract in every letter you write. Scatter the truth. No tongue can tell the vast amount of good you may thus do. More than 1,700 persons were converted by copies of one leaflet! ... An assorted package to any address for 50 cents."Context
Mr. Cook's publishing company funded the construction of the Cook Mansion in Saugatuck, on the banks of the Kalamazoo River, near Singapore.Collection
