Description

Two workers pause from deconstructing the Hotel Hamilton, previously known as the Saugatuck House. The hotel was Saugatuck's first purpose-built lodging. A sign for Davis Livery and Express remains. This image was featured as History Mystery #75 with the solution: The Hamilton Hotel - aka Saugatuck House, being torn down in 1913 to clear the way for the current Saugatuck Drug building on the corner of Butler and Mason Sts. The present Phil's building can be seen to the north
