Description

Metal final that adorned the top of the siren tower at the NW corner of Beery Field. The flat metal and plumbing pipe sign spells out the name "DOUGLAS" in capital letters. The items was called a directional wind spinner in local newspaper coverage.

Context

This finial was from the top of the tornado/fire siren tower. See 2007.06.06 for a 1940s photo of the bottom of the tower.
