From photographic negatives created by William R. Simmons, editor of the Commercial Record newspaper between 1941 and 1961.
Caption from the 2001 SDHS book "Off the Record" The Post Office operated out of this building from the 1920s until moving to its present site in 1978. The building to the right was the "Tiny Tavern" — a small restaurant well known for its 5-cent hamburgers, handed over the counter wrapped in waxed paper, and fries. Five cents more for a bottle of pop. It later became the Simmons Restaurant.Photograph Details
