Context

This image was featured as History Mystery #29 with the solution: The band was the Silver Cornet Band and the photo was taken in the Saugatuck village square. Research by James T. Faasen uncovered a 1884 newspaper clipping (below) about the organization of Saugatuck Brass Band that included Chris Zwemer, suggesting the photo was taken between 1884 and December 1886, when Mr. Zwemer committed suicide. Sometimes this image is titled Saugatuck Silver Cornet Band
