Description

Pair of daguerreotype photographs thought to be of Remmett Koning (the father of John Koning) or Arie Jakob Van Zoeren 1825-1890 The sitters are two men but they are not identified. Pink color has been added to enhance their cheeks. The frames are highly ornate with embossing on the leather-like covers and much gold decorations on the interior mats. The spine is torn so the photos are completely separate. The photos have different-shaped mats so although the covers and latches match, they may not be a pair. Each framed images is about 3 x3.5 inches.
