Description

Custom crafted shoe shine stand created by boat builder Carl Bird. The stand is made of four plywood shapes screwed together and is rock solid. The underside of the top has a Carl Bird "He Built Her" brass nameplate

Context

A good way for a boat builder to use up wood scraps around the workshop. The stand belonged to Henry Hungerford, Saugatuck's singing policeman.
