Scope and Content

January (draft) and May 1999 reports of a four-year effort to document the built environment in Saugatuck, Douglas and the surrounding areas. Survey was conducted by the Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society members. No governmental entities were involved. 728 buildings were surveyed. The yellow booklet introduction cites a Windows Access database that includes all information from the surveys, outlines how the buildings were selected and rated, research sources and volunteer list The survey recorded the building's street address, historic name, other names, town, architectural style, significant date and rating
