Ingrid Swanson of Arizona visited the archives on Monday, 13 Feb 2023 to research her husband’s grandfather, Arthur Bertil “Bert” Swanson, who grew up in Douglas. According to Ingrid, after a fire at the family farm in Douglas (thought to be located off of Wiley Road, she didn’t know when), and the deaths of the Bertil’s father John Albert in 1924, and his mother Alfreida in 1925, Bertil lived with a “Captain Tisdale” until he graduated from high school. The daughter Doris was sent away to live with relatives.Create Date
