DVD of two color promotional movies shot by Theodore D. Shaw [Sr.] about Camp Gray. For the DVD, Theodore's son, Ted Shaw Jr. narrates both movies. Camp Gray in 1940 Credits say "Narration by Bud Hogarty, staff member in 1940 Produced and photographed by Theodore D. Shaw [Sr.]" 30-minute color movie that shows a group of boys from the Presbyterian Neighborhood Houses of Chicago (specifically the Howell Neighborhood house at 1831 South Racine Ave.), boarding the Pere Marquette train to travel to Camp Gray. They disembark at Fennville and board camp buses. After some group singing on the dunes, they boys are welcomed by Mr. R.A. Walker, Westminster camp director. Narration mentions Florence Wright, Gertrude Ray and Florence Ray. Footage includes scenes at the Recreation Hall, fishing trip to the Ox-Bow lagoon, boats on the Kalamazoo rowing upriver to New Richmond to stay overnight and float back the following morning, making crafts like clay sculptures, candle holders, lanyards, sawing, swimming, playing in the beach, getting sun burnt, walking to dinner at Westminster lodge, playing baseball, and watching sun set. The next segment is the arrival of mothers-and-children groups designed to give mothers a break from care giving, a shot if the Peniel Nook center of the Hebrew Christian Settlement Group, and colorfully costumed by less happy Italian-immigrant mothers and children, described as being from the Girabaldi settlement house. Third segment is a girls group (co-ed camping did not happen until after WWII) doing much the same as the boy's group. 4th Church Camp 1939 Camp Gray on Lake Michigan 5-minute movie Credits say "Photographed and edited by Theodore D. Shaw [Sr.], A.C.L. Metro Movie Club Chicago, 1939" Part 1: Fourth Presbyterian Church girls at Camp Gray under direction of Mrs. James B. Allen (Anna Mary). Teen girls at the beach, washing sand from the legs (cameo by Ruth Marie Shaw, the narrator's sister), doings crafts, playing baseball and tennis, Part 2: Fourth Presbyterian Church boys at Camp Gray under direction of Mr. Alfred J.
