Description

This is a lithograph print by Francis Chapin. It depicts the interior of the Ferry Store in Saugatuck. This scene is filled with people drinking, eating ice cream sundaes, and enjoying themselves. The patrons of the ferry store are either beautiful blushing women or men with white sailor hats. Chapin's variations in the people he draws gives this scene depth and allows the individuals to not get lost in the crowd. In the background there are sailboats going by on the Kalamazoo river.
