Description

Gold-colored, wire "tree" displaying the City of Douglas' collection of eighteen Christmas tree ornaments that depict landmarks in the Saugatuck and Douglas area. Sixteen of the ornaments were produced in Poland by "Klassics by Kurtis": 1999 Teddy Bear on Hobby Horse 2001 Old School House/Douglas Union School 2002 Dutcher Lodge (red bow broken) 2003 S.S. Keewatin 2004 Community Library 2005 DUCC Church 2006 French Cottage 2007 Lakeview Lanes 2008 Bekken Blacksmith Shop 2009 Bentley's 2000 Douglas Clock 2010 Brackett & Company 2011 Button Petter Gallery 2014 Standing Santa marked 275 of 2500 Undated Douglas Root Beer Barrel with SDHC logo printed on bottom Undated white ball with "Village of Douglas" written in red glitter Two, smaller, ball-shaped ornaments have hand-painted depictions of: The Old School House and text "Douglas 2014" signed "L. Nauman" Douglas Street Clock and text "Merry Christmas 2013" signed "LN" Eight branches on the tree are empty. Gold ribbon bows are attached to the tree and to the ornament's hangars.

Context

For many years, the City of Douglas or Douglas organizations have offered these ornaments to the public as a fund raiser.
