In 1988 the Saugatuck City Council decided they needed more room to house their expanding office needs. The proposed addition would have disturbed the Indian burial grounds and destroyed the look of the historical building. Reyda and Disrud came up with an alternative plan at a much lower cost. After initial resistance and a petition showing that the majority of Saugatuck voters agreed, the plans were approved.
