Richard John Roda, son of John Roda of Luddington, who came here early in the spring to fish [for carp] with his father was drowned near Batavia landing yesterday. He was delivering groceries for Leland's Dept. Store Col. when it is believed that trouble with his engine made some repair necessary. The first that other knew about any trouble was when they saw the boat afire and Roda had jumped into the water.Collection
