VAN SYCKEL'S STORE
1941
Center Street | Douglas
This classy Colonial Revival with six bay windows and a tall pedimented hood over the door was the village grocery store. Note the gas pump. The VanSyckel family operated this store for many years, at first as a combination grocery and hardware business, then exclusively as a grocery. It later became the IGA store operated by Ed and Marge Burns. Now retail space and apartments, slightly altered condition. Destroyed by fire, 2006.Collection
