Wilfred (Wally) Berg Boats on the Kalamazoo 1952 | marker on paper Notes: Wally was known as Muskegon's premier artist. He also spent some time in the Saugatuck area sketching the "sights". Here, he captures a ferryman preparing to row a group of tourists across the Kalamazoo River. In the background one can see another ferry scow filled with passengers and behind in the east bank of the river. If you look closely, you can see light color markings indicating that this may have been intended as a sketch for another work, possibly a painting or mural.
