Four-page, fold out brochure promoting a ski resort that was on the lake shore between Saugatuck and Holland. Printed in red and blue ink, the brochure includes hand-drawn illustrations of stylish people being cool and attractive.Context
This short-lived but ambitious resort was owned and operated by entrepreneur Norm Archer and Don Martin. It was 10 minutes north of Saugatuck between Castle Park and Lake Macatawa. The resort was beloved by Hollanders but the lack of reliable snow eventually doomed the project. The resort gave a generation of high school kids their first taste of skiing.
The resort was in operation from 1963 to 1973. Later the land became the Scenic Shore housing development led by Ed Havlik.Collection
