Scope and Content

Two pages from a Taylor Art School brochure. Page one has quotes praising artist William S. Schwartz by author by Manuel Chapman and by Dudley Crafis Watson, membership lecturer, Art Institute to Chicago. The other side of the page has a brown-ink image of a still life painting by William Samuel Schwartz (1896 - 1977). Page two has "Necessary Information -- Classes" describing tuition, transportation and recreations in Saugatuck. The school is described as being "on U.S. 31" and that buses will stop in front of the school. The top of the page has a Herman Simonson photo of artists painting at the Taylor Art Studio (see below). The other side of the page is titled "Student work" and mentions artists Pearl Phelps Brown, Mary Jane White, Ruth Whaley, Mary T. Brown, Dora Day, Mrs. Murdock and photos of paintings by Joy Taylor, Pearl Phelps Brown and Mary Jane White.
