Scope and Content

In 2023, local artist Maryjo Lemanski conducted a survey of the public art in Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville. Each inventory document includes a photo and blurb about the artist and interpretation questions. The information gathered was used to create the Saugatuck-Douglas Conventions and Visitors Bureau-produced 2025 "Arts Guide & Map - Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville." The information may be included in QR codes for display near each sculpture.

Context

An accounting of local art on "Michigan's Art Coast" circa 2023-4. "Canary in a Coal Mine" by Shawn Morin, located in the Blue Star Highway roundabout in 2025, "Rori" by Cynthia McKean at Douglas Elementary school and "Big Fish" by Joshua Russell at the CVB do not have survey documents.
