The full story of the Toledo War and Michigan's stormy entrance into the Union. It began with a faulty map of the Midwest and wound its way through the political system for several years. The battleground was a disputed triangle of land near what would be Toledo. The conflicts were more comic opera than grueling battle and in the end Michigan was offered a compromise--or else. Told in the words of those who participated in the strange circumstances, and the newspapers which wrote highly biased accounts. Well-illustrated with maps, engravings and old photographs.
