James Madonia date unknown - date unknown Kalico Kitchen c. 1980 | watercolor Notes: James Madonia was active in the Saugatuck-Douglas area in the third quarter of the 20*h Century, but at this point, no biographical information is available. This image of a Douglas "institution" depicts the popular restaurant as it looked around 1980. It was later expanded. Located at the juncture of Blue Star Highway and Ferry Street, the Kalico Kitchen became infamous when it was featured on an episode of the reality television show, Restaurant Impossible, titled Kalico Katastrophe.
