Sailboat at SaugatuckEntry/Object ID
2021.46.01Description
This is a dark brown-ink etching printed on lightweight, beige laid-finish paper by Carl Hoerman. The etching depicts a sailboat tied up at a rustic dock, in the bay of the Kalamazoo river at Saugatuck. In the background two figures are rowing boat and a second sailboat appears to be an anchor and the opposite bank is visible. The work is titled and signed in pencil. Hoerman's style of fine lines and details brings out the grain in the wood of the dock and boat, as well as brings a realism the trees lining the water in the background.Type of Print
