"The Popular File" letters box by the Hazeltine & Perkins Drug Co., Stationary Department of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Wood and paperboard box styled with a curved "spine" to resemble a ledger. The box has a hinged cover and side panel plus a leather tab on the spine for pulling off a shelf. The latch that once kept the box closed is broken. Inside, alphabetical tabs are provided to seperate correspondence.
"Village of Saugatuck" is written on the cover and "Mar 1 - 1918" is noted on the spine.Context
Many of the documents found in the S.A. Morrison Post Office desk at the Saugatuck Woman's Club were in this box although it is not clear if they were originally placed there or ended up in the box over the years.Collection
