Two-page photocopy of a Commercial Record newspaper article by Wayne Weed questioning the Native American origins of the name Saugatuck. The article originally ran on Thursday, Sept. 20, 1979.

Context

Mr. Weed speculates that because many of the early settlers were from the New England region, Michigan's Saugatuck may be named after Saugatuck, [Westport] Connecticut that is located on the Saugatuck River.
