Description

The chain ferry scow loaded with passengers and a wagon hitched to two horses. The number of hats and parasols suggest it is a hot sunny day. The Pokagon resort is visible on the west side of the Kalamazoo River. This is a digital image transferred of the SDHC photo blog in March 2023 A nearly identical photo in a Morris-Frehse family photo album [2023.09.14] identifies the women in white standing by the cranker as Mrs. Aliber and Mrs. Morris. Both were members of the Saugatuck First Congregational Church.
