Tony Saladino, "Tree Line", c.1990 - Print, matted and plastic cover.
Treeline was made in 1990 when Saladino was a teacher at the Ox-Bow for the summer. He therefore had access to the printmaking studio. He made 2 still life prints that we have in our collection at the Old School House, alongside this print of birch trees. In this print the lighting suggests that the sun is setting, as the trees are highly contrasted. The dunes in the background are shadowy and to the left the viewer can make out a body of water-perhaps the Ox-Bow lagoon? The scale of this piece is small, and that suggests it was made for a classroom example.Type of Print
