Scope and Content

Westminster Lodge 1939 promotion movie filmed in color by Theodore Shaw Sr. with voice-over narration added in 1994 by Ted Shaw Jr. The movie begins with footage of campers arriving by train in Fennville, the car ride to the camp up the 1935 Oval Beach road, Westminster Lodge, Swift Villa, Bluebird, Robin's Nest, the camp dietitian inspecting a food delivery, Oliver Neal the chef, Mrs. Walker waving, campers eating in the Swift Villa dining room, Donna Clark, relaxing in the lounge and library, activities, shuffleboard, sunsets, a nurse dressing a wound, Emerson Hill, views of the surrounding landscape and from Mount Baldhead, the stairs at Mount Baldhead, Butler Street, Big Pavilion, sign for Miss Saugatuck the speedboat, the car ferry [chain ferry scow], a talent show, baseball games, tennis players, golfing at West Shore Golf Course, Douglas water tower, and concludes with campers watching the sun set with fish nets visible along the shore.
