Description

Gray-glazed ceramic bottle with wooden stopper. The 12-sided, stoneware, salt glaze, blob top bottle is stamped J.B. Folger just below the neck.

Context

J.B. Folger bottles came from Grand Rapids, Michigan. John Baldwin Folger founded the J.B. Baldwin and Sons Bottling Company in the 1870s. The bottles were manufactured by the Merrill Pottery Company of Ohio and predominantly used for root beer, sarsaparilla, lemon beer or other beverages.
