Description

Small, single-stapled booklet with green/brown embossed cover and 32-pages. Many pages of advertisements, b/w photos and a multiple-page text extolling the area's virtues. The text describes what the visitor will see if they arrive by ship -- Mt. Baldhead, the "new cut", the Singapore site (including description of residents moving to upper floors to escape the sand), the ferry, claims about J. Fenimore Cooper's inspiration for "Oak Openings," Forward Movement Park, hunting, fishing, and travel by steamship or the Interurban electric train.

Context

Published in confidence that the "new cut" — the current harbor mouth channel — was near completion, this guide was created to attract tourism.
