Description

Three package freight steamers with masts are loaded with wood. Site is where Tower Marine is today. Then it was the property of Captain Hamilton who wintered/docked for Hines Lumber of Chicago. One ship has an "H" on its smoking smokestack. (Some screw steamers carried masts through the end of the 19th century.) Photo is printed on Kodak Velox Paper and has "20" and "D.D." written on the back. Yellowing transparent tape on the corners of the image.
