Fish House in SaugatuckEntry/Object ID
2021.15.04Description
A lithograph print made by Francis Chapin, of a fishing house on the Kalamazoo river. Across from the river is a view of the Big Pavilion. Chapin's use of dark color makes the scene appear stormy, along with bending trees and windblown flags in the background. Just in front of the house there is a figure, presumably a fisherman. He is nearly enveloped by the shadow of the house. Behind the house there are masts of a sailboat towering into the sky.Type of Print
