Shaking his cane at Father Time, Eber Snow, 80, a few weeks ago climbed the sandy summit of Old Baldhead, 450 feet high, The climb is a severe and trying one for youngsters. But the Kalamazoo octogenarian scaled the heights with apparent ease. Mr. Snow resides with his daughter, Mrs. James Myers of Lincoln Avenue. For a long time the Kalamazoo man had a desire to mount to the peak of Saugatuck's famous sand dune. People who have performed the feat relate in glowing terms the splendid panorama which presents itself to view once the top is reached. NO EASY PATHS But the way to the top of the dune is an arduous one. There is no easy path. Tracks at a steep elevation lead through the rolling and shifting sands. Young people who have climbed Old Baldhead are inclined to brag about it. They would scoff at the thought of an 80-year-old man attempting to climb its rugged sides. However, Mr. Snow, when on a family party at Saugatuck last month decided that he would attempt the climb. On a bright Sunday morning he started out. In less than three quarters of an hour he was at the top. "It took me 80 years to make the climb," Mr. Snow declared while relating his experiences, "but I say that it's better late than never."
