Description

Four prints likely taken at an exposition or reenactment camp, year and location unknown. 1. Image of standing man wrapped in plaid blanket, a woman and two children seated by a light-colored fabric tent. The woman is wrapped in a dark cloth. The children are dressed in outfits that bring to mind Indigenous woodland-style clothing. 2. Dome-shaped wigwam made of mats or bark 3. Women and men in European-style clothing touring a campfire and a wigwam. 4. A cone-shaped tent in the tepee style. This entry includes additional digital-only images of other encampment scenes and a newspaper clipping about a Pottawatomie camp at Calhoun Fair in 1908.
