Description

Steam-powered tug Berwick with six people on board and a heavy plume of smoke flowing from smokestack. Built for R.C. Brittian in the summer of 1894 in Saugatuck. In September, the tug was sailed to Louisiana by W.G. Edgecomb for use in the lumber trade there. See Kit Lane's "Built on the Banks of the Kalamazoo" for more information.
