Veterans Parade

Entry/Object ID

Description

Bruner Freshe American Legion Post No. 137 band, likely arrayed for a Veterans or Memorial Day ceremony or parade. The drummer in the first row is Civil War veteran William T. Kimsey. Next to Kimsey, Civil War veteran Joshua J. Brown stands with a floral arrangement. Kimsey died in 1932 so this photo must be before that year. The group is standing in two lines in front of a cottage with a group of townspeople to the side. See 2024.07.01 for possibly another photo taken the same day that identifies the cottage as belonging to Joshua J. Brown. Original accession number is 89-1-3.
