Boonslick State Park (Salt Lick Spring) located on Highway 187, 10 miles northeast of Boonsville. It is one of the earliest centers of white men's activities in the interior of Missouri. Salt was made at Boonslick as early as 1805 by Daniel M. Boone and Nathan Boone, two sons of Daniel Boone. The salt was boated down the Missouri River to settlements and St. Louis.
