Description
The St. Charles County Historical Society Archives moved to the second floor of the Old Market House, formerly the old City Hall and Police Station, in the first part of October 1979 and was open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the first of November. Dan Afflick (standing on ladder) and his crew of Boy Scouts assisted the staff to move the Archives from 117 Jefferson Street, across the alley. Most of the materials and the furnishings were carried across the alley and to the second floor of the Old Market House by the Boy Scouts. Then they helped arrange and set up the Archives. Archivist Emma Porter looks on from the second floor window.
