Name/Title
Holsman 1907Description
The Holsman is very much a horseless carriage equipped with tiller steering and a simple rope drive that often proved unsatisfactory in wet weather. Considered to the granddaddy of high wheelers, its slogan was, "Rides like a carriage."
Holsman stayed with the highwheeled buggy, rope drive design until it entered receivership in 1910.
This is a high wheeled horseless carriage with a black open body, black interior and top and brass trim and lighting. The wheels are narrow wood spoked and have solid rubber tires reminiscent of the horse-drawn buggies the car was designed to replace.
