Thomas T. Wilson has been called the best-known unknown artist in the Northwest. His originality was revealed in his vibrant landscapes and cloudscapes inspired by the dramatic environment of the Pacific Northwest. He painted this moody sky diptych while living in Port Townsend, where he was fully involved in its artistic and cultural revival and considered his most productive period. The artist’s bold brush strokes evoke an intense storm, painted in white, blue, black and umber colors. He was a Washington State Convention Center art advisor and foundation member 2002-2009.
