Few glass artists are as well-respected as Lino Tagliapietra. Born in Murano, Italy, he began his glass apprenticeship at age 11 and ascended to the rank of maestro at age 21. In 1968, Tagliapietra shared guarded Muranese glassmaking techniques with Dale Chihuly, marking an unprecedented collaboration. This blue, ovoid shaped vase is decorated with a black, swirling, filagree pattern.
