Joey Kirkpatrick and Flora Mace, working collaboratively for the last 40 years, hope their fruit sculptures inspire people to appreciate everyday objects. They want us to ponder our reliance on nature, its cycles and its seasons. To build up the realistic color in this arrangement of fruit and vegetables, they sifted crushed colored glass onto the blown forms while still hot, creating layers of tone and texture.
