By rearranging items found within construction sites, Vichaypai builds a symbolic portrait of our surroundings. Tensions between both a rapidly redeveloping future and a demolition of the past are apparent across these sites. Whose histories have happened in these spaces, who builds the new spaces, and who they are being built for?

"Using several photographs of active construction sites across Seattle as
reference, this piece rearranges the items found within these lots to build a symbolic
portrait of our surroundings. Tensions between both a rapidly redeveloping future and
a demolition of the past are apparent across these sites. Whose histories have
happened in these spaces, who builds the new spaces, and who they are being built
for, are all important relationships which can be analyzed through the objects present
across these sites."
