Photograph of what appears to be a gravesite in Iwo Jima. Gravestones are long and white, and appear to have no names, only numbers and large dots at the top. (Dot may represent the red sun on the Japanese flag). An American flag is set between the gravestones. The gravestones are set in sand. In the middle of the gravesite are troops giving a twenty-one gun salute. An officer stands to the side of them. In the background the hills are covered with troops. Difficult to say if these are US troops or Japanese.
Side of photograph has the print "A.R. More John, SGT USMC 4th Marine Divisision," and bottom of photograph has the print "Iwo Jima Conf Jicpoa Neg No. 50425-159".
