Ernst Heubach (1887–1932) was a prominent German doll manufacturer based in Köppelsdorf, specializing in bisque-headed character baby and toddler dolls, often marked with a horseshoe symbol. Renowned for high-quality, expressive faces, Heubach dolls—notably molds 300, 320, 342, and 399—frequently featured painted intaglio eyes and were produced in collaboration with or for firms like Armand Marseille. Ernst Heubach founded his porcelain factory in Köppelsdorf, Sonneberg, Germany, in 1887. The company specialized in porcelain-headed bisque dolls on composition or kid leather bodies, alongside electrical insulators. Unlike many manufacturers who used white bisque, Heubach frequently used pink-tinted porcelain for their dolls. In 1919, Ernst Heubach merged with rival [Armand Marseille] to form the "Vereinigte Köppelsdorf Porzellanfabrik vorm. Armand Marseille und Ernst Heubach," which lasted until 1932.Collection
